Challenges

Turning awareness into action, together.

The one-hour challenge

One hour a day, for one week, with no screen in it.

Choose the hour deliberately rather than hoping one appears. Many people find the hour after waking or the hour before sleep is the one that changes the most, because those two hours set the tone for everything between them.

Rules, and there are only two. The phone goes in another room, not face down on the table. And when the urge arrives — it will, around minute seven — notice it rather than obeying it.

Seven days. Report back with what filled the hour instead.

Seven mornings, one question

The first challenge of this circle, and it is deliberately small.

For seven mornings, before the phone, ask yourself one question: what am I carrying today? Name it, once, silently or on paper. Then begin the day.

That is all. No app, no streak, no score.

Come back on the seventh day and say one thing you noticed. Not a report — one thing. The value of a challenge done together is not the discipline, it is reading what somebody else found when they did the same thing you did.

Who is in?

Say the thing you have been postponing

The hardest challenge here, and the shortest to describe.

There is a conversation you have been putting off. You know the one. It arrived in your mind while you read that sentence.

This week, have it.

Not a confrontation. Often it is the opposite — the thank you never said, the apology that is three years late, the question you have never asked a parent because there never seemed to be a right moment. There is no right moment. There is only this week and the next one.

You do not have to tell us what it was. Only whether you did it.

That is the beginning. You have seen every one of the posts.
